On September 20, 1983 at the Olympiastadion in München, Gerd Müller played his last football match.  A farewell game between Bayern and the German National Team was staged with Müller playing a half for each to send off one of German football’s greatest players.  A bittersweet Müller took in the wave of emotions above.  

England (white) and Germany (dark) lined up in front of 105,000 spectators at the Olympiastadion on May 14, 1936, both succumbing to the Nazi propaganda machine of the time. England beat Germany 6-3.
